Leo the bot

Leo the Slack bot was a new integration and one of the first hr Slack bot to hit the market. The integration allowed human resources and managers to send their Officevibe surveys directly to Slack instead of emails. The main benefits of the integration were an improved integration into workers’ workflows and faster survey response.

The bot was developed in a 2-week offsite in Barcelona with a small team.

• While we wanted Leo to be very energetic and engaging, the repetitive in-app messaging quickly became redundant. We then updated our copy to have a more balanced and poised tone.
• Access to developers at Slack was a game-changer and improved the development of the feature. Especially considering how “new” Slack bots were back in 2016.
• The Slack store was a great driver for signups and became a new acquisition channel.
